Disruptors In Residence

There are a lot of things going on in the world right now that are a sign that something’s got to give.

I believe we all are chosen to be leaders capitalizing our natural gifts and raw talents to make a difference in the world in our own unique way. However, not all choose to answer the call and be the person they were intended to be.

Upon my simple awareness of my true purpose, I took the action to humbly embrace the courage of conviction to answer that calling.

I am you. I am my own Dream Maker.

I Believe in Big Ideas

As Louis Kahn, American architect often shared with his students, “even a brick desires to be something.” I believe we, as humanity, also desire to become more.

Having been an avid zealot of travel and of architecture, I am reminded that architecture is one of humanity’s most visible and long-lasting forms of expression spanning the entire length of humanity.

Most historic civilizations are identified by their surviving architectural relics.  The Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, the Pavilion in Japan or the Taj Mahal in India.

As I live in Miami, and watch in awe as Zahah Hadid’s final work is completed after her untimely passing, daily our magical skyline spotlights the tremendous courage she demonstrated in her lifetime to defy the profile of a “timeless architect”.

This is how powerful architecture is within the development of our culture and people.

Architecture can literally shift the perspective of mankind, as it gives us permission and draws us to look up for inspiration, above the noise and chaos of our current reality, to find the faith required to believe that something unseen to the naked eye is truly possible and that it can stand the test of time.

Big Ideas Create New Worlds

To create something new usually requires a person to let go of something that is old. As Pablo Picasso said, “every act of creation is first an act of destruction.”

Transitions are painful because they destroy the status quo, pushing humanity beyond our current comfort zones. At our firm and with other global leaders, we brave the possibility of letting go of something that is old to create something that is new and worthy of our potential.

We want to disrupt the current global exchange of instincts, skills, and experiences.

We know discussions on social challenges are diverse and provocative, but we believe we need brave, bold new ideas to resolve the inertia, trapped capital, and ultimately, human suffering that exists within our communities.

We are committed to being a part of a movement that is creating the space at global tables where New Voices and New Firsts can be heard and create a new world of inclusive capitalism and democracy.

Having courage does not mean that we are unafraid. Having courage and showing courage means we face our fears. We are able to say, I have fallen, but I will get up.
